I bought this for my son-in-law who drives dragsters and he loved it. Couldn’t stop pushing the sound button so he could hear the “engines”!

I saw this clock at a gift shop in St. Louis and had fun checking out the realistic drag racing sounds and the Christmas tree, but it is extremely flimsy and cheap. My assumption is that it would be broken in short order. I didn’t make any attempt to set the alarm, but was happy to push the button to create the drag racing sound effects! Not sure the other patrons of the shop were as happy with the sound as I was.

My husband opened the clock on Christmas morning, only to find that the alarm part of the clock did not work. You could set to alarm, no mater what time you set it for it would just start alarming and would not stop. So I guess you could say I was quite dissatisfied with my purchase!

The PROS-
VERY LOUD… as in can be heard three rooms away loud… and great if you want to wake up the entire HOUSE with only one clock.
COOOL- the lights light up in true drag strip fashion, engines roar, temp and humidity gauges work (not sure how accurate though).
Actual clock display is good for teaching kids time (no digital display).
The CONS-
The “christmas tree” (lights) are VERY cheap plastic- think of the kind you find in model car kits where you snap off the pieces- VERY fragile so you have to be really careful to always pick it up by the base and not hit the lights on anything. If you have little kids you might want to set it up high enough that they won’t bump it and accidently break it- of course that means they can’t turn the thing off without your help though- so….
It’s a little tricky when you set the alarm- for a kid anyway- because it has to be exactly on the number to go off at the right time. It is one of those turn the red arrow to the number kind of alarm clocks.
Uses batteries… no spot for an adapter either… so be prepared to buy lots of AA’s if you use this daily.
